Hi Ladies,
This is our first e-newsletter this
month. Hope you enjoy it !
Our Program ‘Summer Chill’ was really
chilling ........with salads and Mocktails. We thank both chefs chef
Ruturaj for the detailed demonstration of the recipes given
for salads and mocktails and chef Kaviraj for gracing the occasion and agreeing to give
us a recipe for our newsletter every month. Thank you, Pallavi Sharma and Bharti
Kejriwal ‘Good Home Committee’
coordinators for putting this program together for all of
us.
Speak Easy Finale on the 22nd
went off well. The students were very thrilled to receive
certificates from The Indian Ambassador, H.E Shri
Balakrishna Shetty. Special thanks to the teachers Mrs.Rekha
Utham, Mrs.Reena Joseph, Mr.T.S.Srinivasan and Mr.Rodrigo
Britto for the sincere efforts put in by them. They were
honoured with mementos presented by Shaikha Maha Abdul Aziz
Al Khalifa. Congragulations Mariam George and Parul Desai on
a job well done!
Two months are going to be slow at ILA….with
many of us not here. September, October, November and
December are going to be hectic.

Speak Easy Subcommittee |
The students of the Spoken English Classes
conducted by the Speak Easy Subcommittee had a joint session
on Friday, 8th June 2007, where Dr.Bela Manoj, Counselor,
Indian School, talked to the group on Stress Management.
There was a class on health issues and personality
development given by Dr. Babu Ramachandran of American
Mission Hospital on Friday, 15th June 2007.
The students were honoured with course certificates by
H.E.Balkrishna Shetty, The Indian Ambassador, who was the
chief Guest of the Day. Shaikha Maha Bint Abdul Aziz Al
Khalifa who was the Guest of Honour for the evening gave
away the mementos to the teachers thanking them for a job
well done.

Workers
Welfare Subcommittee. |
Thanks to the wonderful response by our members who put in
so much effort in making delicious home cooked food for the
workers of Mazeal Construction Company on 15th June 2007. It
was greatly appreciated. A big Thank U goes to the ladies
who donated food.

75 workers from General Construction Company on Friday 20th
July 2007.

Recipe -

CAULIFLOWER LOLLYPOPS
[batter fried cauliflower florets,served hot for a quick and
tasty snack]
Ingredients
1 small cauliflower- approx 1 kg
3 tablespoons flour or besan
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons water
1 egg, slightly beaten (optional)
1 medium onion chopped
1/4 cup oil
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 pinch tandoori colour –optional.
Tooth picks as required.
Method-
Separate cauliflower into small florets. Bring salted water
to boil and add florets, bring to boil again, cover and cook
5 minutes. Drain, coarsely chop and set aside.
Mix flour, salt, pepper, water, and egg. Then stir in onion
and other spices along with the cauliflower.
Heat oil in large skillet, drop cauliflower mixture into the
hot oil and sauté 3 minutes on each side or until brown
Drain on paper towels when well fried and remove. Serve hot.
Chefs variations- try the same recipe with
chicken,babycorn,mushrooms,potato mixture coated on carrot
sticks.
