Venue: The Sailing Club near Al Jazayer Beach

Learning to sail in two weeks?  Can it really be possible?  Yes, affirms Shaikh Mohamed bin Daij Al Khalifa, Board Member of the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association.  The association is gearing up to organise a three-weekend event, 'The Wave Challenge', wherein groups of individuals will be trained to handle and sail a sailing boat during the first two weekends and the third weekend will be Racing Day.  "We are aiming to promote the sport of sailing against the backdrop of a clean, family environment which will encourage people to come out to the sea.  This also goes very well with the culture of Bahrain as our lovely island has been famous for pearl diving for centuries." The teams (of about 4-5 individuals each) will be asked to assemble on the 20th of March (Friday) at the Sailing Club near Al Jazayer Beach from 9.30am onwards for the first session.
