CONVERTING TO ORACLE FINANCE SYSTEM

 

Oracle E-Business Suite Implementation is going on in AIG for the past 11 months. We are in the last leg of the project and we will be going live shortly once we complete parallel run.

Following is the brief highlight of the Project implementation

  (A) Key Projects Milestones achieved

o  1st June 2007 - Project Started

o  December-2007 - Completed Study, Mapping, Configuring, customization, Training the Users and Testing the Application

o  January 2008 - Configured the Production Instance and loaded correct Master Data and GL 3 Years Historical Transactions

o  February 2008 – Open Balance Data and On Hand Inventory data provided and uploaded

o  March, 2008 -  AIG started using the application for completing the data entry for the year 2008


  (B) Additional tasks performed
 
o  Installed and implemented the latest release Release-12 and upgraded to 12.0.3 though.

o  The Actual Costing for Serial Number Item was found more crucial in the Business Process of AIG, a Critical customization was undertaken

o  Separate UAT instance configured due to change in the Chart Structure

o   Spent more time for Training and conducted additional training for SCM users

o  Incremental Data Loading, historical transactions migration also managed data exceptions

 

Most all the Business Process of AIG are mapped and configured within the Standard process of Oracle E-Business Suite. For customization we have followed Oracle standards and developed within the Framework and security of Oracle E-Business Suite.


  (C) List of Customizations and Workarounds

o   Inventory Landed Cost calculation Extension

o   Workaround solution for Project Nature Sales Transactions within the frame work of Oracle Finance and Distribution modules

o   Modified the FIFO Costing for Serial Numbered Items to use the Actual Cost

o   Form Personalization and Reports
